Emergency Prescription Fund

The Worcester District Medical Society Rx Fund was established to provide transitional assistance with prescription medicine to patients of WDMS members while they await approval for insurance coverage such as MassHealth.

The fund is solely supported by donations from WDMS members that allow us to provide emergency assistance to patients who need help with medications during a period of transition.

The physician should direct the patient to fill their prescription at Rite Aid Pharmacy on 393 Chandler Street, Worcester, MA. The pharmacy will call WDMS for approval.

The Fund is available to WDMS Physician members only. To access this fund, physicians need to write WDMS Rx Fund on the back of the prescription.

Only patients who are uninsured can access the WDMS RX Fund.
The RX Fund will cover up to one month’s medication (up to $75 per prescription).
Refills are generally not allowed  (exceptions can be made based on patient's circumstances if the physician contacts WDMS at 508-753-1579).
The RX Fund does not cover any federally controlled substances.
The RX Fund does not cover any antidepressants.
